"Stargate SG-1" Review Season 03, Episode 17, A Hundred Days

After watching a very ominous meteor shower which occurs annually and grows more spectacular each year, SG-1 feels it very necessary to evacuate the locals. Most are cooperative, but some refuse to leave due to suspicion that the danger is exaggerated so Earth can move in and claim their land for themselves. Trying to save the children of a local friend, Colonel O'Neill is stranded when the Stargate suddenly disappears in a cataclysmic explosion caused by an impacting meteorite.
There is little new information in this episode, outside the now available source of Naquadah, a mineral Earth does not have but needs to battle the Goa'uld.
There is one thing which strikes me, and that is that in this series, all the members of SG-1 are as much able to unwittingly charm members of the opposite sex as the infamous Captain James Tiberius Kirk. Several times in each Season one or more members of the team gain another admirer, and had it not been for the weeks which should pass between each episode it might seem excessive.
Another thing which occurred to me was the question; why send Teal'c through on a possible one way trip when a series of RPGs could get the job done? The answer might just be; for suspense.
The plot is good, the acting talent is good, the effects are good.

A change has been made in regards to the Adult status of the Blog, due to the reviews on Alcoholic Beverages, and some for the violent games and films reviewed. Wouldn't want to set a bad example.
