A change has been made in regards to the Adult status of the Blog, due to the reviews on Alcoholic Beverages, and some for the violent games and films reviewed. Wouldn't want to set a bad example.

"Dexter is Delicious" Review

"Dexter is Delicious" Review

7/10

2010
Written By: Jeff Lindsay
Protagonist(s): Dexter Morgan

In the wake of the birth of his daughter, Dexter is filled with emotion and what he could only describe as a fledgling Soul, compelling him to walk the straight and narrow path of righteousness rather than the hidden trail of blood and knives. But the emergence of a new kind of threat to the world puts his resolve to the test.

As usual, the almost Douglas Adams level of casual first person narration is very entertaining. However, despite the introduction of another darker aspect of human deviant behaviour and the new level of threat it presents, the pattern of the book is too similar to its predecessors.

The general plot is too predictable, even if the details are different and the 'guest appearances' vary and cause different reactions.

Giving Dexter the emotional perspective of an overly protective father is a nice twist and makes for a few humorous thoughts, but not enough to keep the reader at the edge of their seat.

I recommend this book if you have read the previous books.
