A Kenneth Johnson Film
Protagonist(s): Tim Blaney, Fisher Stevens, Michael McKean, Cynthia Gibb
Antagonist(s): Jack Weston
Run-time: 1 hour 50 minutes
The sentient robot Johnny Five (Tim Blaney) arrives in New York to the care of Ben Jahveri, and is taken advantage of.
The story may as well be about a farm boy rather than a robot, using his farmer skills to help or get even, but the "high tech" version is more entertaining.
I enjoy the simplicity of the robot design, and how he seems to have an infinite amount of memory and gadgets for all occasions, as though he was MacGyver's Swiss Army Knife in a larger size.
As I stated in the review of the first film; had the film been made today the robot may have been CGI, interposed onto the film where a man in a suit is acting as a stand-in.
I recommend this film if you feel like reminiscing of days gone by.
