During an attempt at restoring Teal'c's immune system without the Goa'uld larva, the normally stoic and silent Jaffa reveals the existence of a family on Chulak, and that it nears the time when his only son is implanted with his first Goa'uld larva. With the personal mission of rescuing Teal'c's family and the official mission of procuring more Goa'uld for the white coats at Langley to study, SG-1 returns to Chulak where they meet the Jaffa who taught Teal'c.

This episode shows that peaceful though he may normally be, darkness still lurks within Doctor Jackson.

The one thing which irks me through this series is that they appear to recycle the same valley for half their off world shoots. It is only partly explained as deliberate terraforming at some point in the past, but I find it unlikely.

The plot is solid, the effects are limited to animatronics and staff weapons, the acting talent is good.
