A change has been made in regards to the Adult status of the Blog, due to the reviews on Alcoholic Beverages, and some for the violent games and films reviewed. Wouldn't want to set a bad example.

"Stargate SG-1" Review Season 01, Episode 16, Enigma

9/10

Upon arriving at another world, SG-1 is faced with a volcanic disaster which had not been evident or present when the probe went through. While rushing to dial Earth, Doctor Jackson discovers people half buried in the falling ash and a quick rescue operation is made out of the exploration. Rather than being grateful, the advanced humans resented being taken by such a primitive people. Unfortunately, the SGC cannot contain the information of their presence.

This episode introduces the people of the Tollan, a highly advanced people who have powerful enough technology not to truly consider anyone a threat and thus scoff at the childish blundering of less advanced humans. But they refuse to exchange technology, much like other advanced species encountered in this series. They will appear again.

The Nox make a brief return in this episode, displaying powers or technologies which were not seen in their last appearance.

Another thing which makes a reappearance is the philosophy that if people in your care will not willingly relent their knowledge then it is your right to force it out of them. Advancement in favour of rights.

The plot is simple enough, the acting talent is good, and the special effects are simple.
