"Stargate SG-1" Review Season 01, Episode 15, Cor-Ai

When SG-1 arrives on a world with a freshly deserted populous, having fled with food still cooking on the fire as soon as the Stargate activated, Teal'c states that he has been there before and that the Goa'uld frequents it as a place to harvest hosts. Upon running into the natives Teal'c is recognised and arrested for murder, and is made to stand trial.

There is little new information on the Stargate universe in this episode, other than a few cultural comments of the local population which is not visited after this event.

This is one of the few occasions where SG-1 has to fight their way out of a situation with words and conviction rather than bullets. It is also one of the few times where Teal'c feels he must atone for past sins committed in the name of false gods.

The plot is more akin to an episode of NCIS in a primitive culture with no extradition, piecing together a legal defense for a team mate without knowing the procedure of trials. The acting talent is good, and the effects are used sparingly.
