A change has been made in regards to the Adult status of the Blog, due to the reviews on Alcoholic Beverages, and some for the violent games and films reviewed. Wouldn't want to set a bad example.

"Mass Effect 2" Review

"Mass Effect 2" Review

9/10

2010
Developer(s): BioWare
Publisher(s): Electronic Arts
Genre: Action Role-Playing, Third Person Shooter
Mode(s): Single-Player

Killed in an unprovoked attack by a mysterious race known as the Collectors, Commander Shepard is revived through the Lazarus Project under the Human Extremist group known as Cerberus for the purpose of stopping the next wave of Reapers.

There have been several changes to the game play of this game compared to the previous game. First of all; the levelling system allows the player to level up only between missions, and the points each level assigns is assigned differently. Where in the previous game each point could be assigned willy-nilly, in this game each advancement costs an increasing number of points.

Most of the game is spent assembling a group of competent warriors for close range, long range and biotic combat.

If you import the finished game save from the last game then a bonus of a few hundred or thousand XP are awarded, giving the player a leg up at the start.

As with the previous game the conversations take a lot of time, but the thing which takes the most time is prospecting planets for minerals as this game allows for a thorough search of the surface. The minerals are used to advance and upgrade weapons and equipment.

I recommend this game to those who played the last game, and if you haven't then I recommend them both.
