In a bid to win over a stubborn and noble customer, Badger the local Crime Lord of Persephone 'invites' Captain Reynolds to attend the social event of the season where the customer will be. With his normal flair, Reynolds attracts more trouble than planned.
As usual the display of technology is understated, not showing off more than once to announce their presence and as such not requiring much explanation. There is once instance of someone coming close to asking for explanation, but it's more a question of purpose rather than mechanics.
In this episode Reynolds shows his chivalry despite his upbringing by defending a lady's honour.
River also shows a side to her which surprises the crew.
