"Wayne's World" Review

"Wayne's World" Review

7/10

1992

A Penelope Spheeris Film
Protagonist(s): Mike Myers, Dana Garvey, Tia Carrere
Antagonist(s): Rob Lowe
Run-time: 1 hour 35 minutes

When a pair of amateur television hosts (Mike Myers, Dana Garvey) are discovered, it sets them out on an adventure of self discovery.

The style of breaking the fourth wall by having the main characters speaking directly to the audience without many of the others hearing it was quite unusual for its time, and was later taken up by the television series " Malcolm in the Middle" and other sit coms.

It is also the first film where Mike Myers starrs as the main protagonist.

The comedy is mostly parodies of persons and situations. The effects are average. The plot is seriously twisted, and has as many as three endings. The acting talent is average.

I recommend this film for comedy enthusiasts.
