With the battle for Helms Deep over, one of the groups formerly of the Fellowship of the Ring has to bring reinforcements to Gondor. Meanwhile Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood) and his gardener Samwise Gamgee (Sean Astin) sneak into Mordor to destroy the One Ring.
While an excellent film, there are elements shuffled in from the second book of the trilogy, and sections have been shuffled into the wrong order or excluded altogether.
I prefer the books to the films, although I agree it takes longer to get through.
The effects are awesome. The acting talent is good. The plot is good (although altered from the source).
I recommend this film for Fantasy Enthusiasts, or fans of Mr Tolkien.
