"Patch Adams" Review
9/10
1998
A Tom Shadyac Film
Protagonist(s): Robin Williams, Monica Potter, Daniel London, Philip Seymor Hoffman
Antagonist(s): Bob Gunton
Run-time: 1 hour 55 minutes
After admitting himself to a mental institution, Hunter Doherty Adams (Robin Williams) discovers a desire to help, to heal, and so sets out to become a doctor. But views and perceptions of how a medical doctor should behave stand in his way.
Based on a real story written by the man himself, so a few points not established by official records or corroborated by several other sources should possibly be taken with a grain of salt. There are several points which CAN be proven true, such as the records of Adams' attendance in school, transcripts of proceedings, and the establishment of the Gesuntheit! Institute.
The plot is excellent. The effects are good. The comedy is borderline offensive in some cases but mostly innocent. The acting talent is excellent.
I recommend this film for those who wish to watch a developing friendship and clownish actions of a doctor in training.
Reviewing different things; food, films, music, books, games etc. It is said that those who can't do; teach. Those who can't teach; critique.

A change has been made in regards to the Adult status of the Blog, due to the reviews on Alcoholic Beverages, and some for the violent games and films reviewed. Wouldn't want to set a bad example.
