"Who Am I?" Review

"Who Am I?" Review

7/10

1998
A Jackie Chan and Benny Chan Film
Protagonist(s): Jackie Chan
Antagonist(s): Tom Pompert
Run-time: 2 hours

A man who suffers from amnesia is found near a downed helicopter by tribesmen in Namibia and nursed back to health. As he doesn't know his identity, they take to calling him by the sentence he keeps repeating; Who Am I?

This film follws the usual Jackie Chan film pattern of a nice guy who is thrown into the deep end of thugs and martial arts practitioners, and who just happens to know some rather amusing forms of fighting.

Mr Chan has a rather clueless and friendly persona in almost all his films, and is said to have been inspired for his acting style and fighting style after watching Buster Keaton. It can be seen in the surprised expression and exaggerated display of pain whenever he hits or is hit.

If you enjoy martial arts and the flailing antics of Mr Chan, this is the film for you.
