"Wanted" Review

"Wanted" Review

8/10

2008
A Timur Bekmambetov Film
Protagonist(s): James McAvoy, Angelina Jolie, Terence Stamp
Antagonist(s): Morgan Freeman
Run-time: 1 hour 50 minutes

When a frustrated and meek office worker discovers through a set of violent events that he is the son of a highly professional assassin his life and views change dramatically.

Based on a graphic novel about a world where super villains have killed every super hero and banded together to slip into other universes where they run rampant and return with loot.

This film is nothing like that, though there are vague similarities. There is a fraternity and they commit crime. They all have special skill sets which primarily revolves around killing. Wesley (James McAvoy) has a special ability with guns.

The fighting sequences are highly entertaining but not necessarily physically possible. The ballistic physics are impossible according to my understanding, but looks very cool.

If you enjoy films in the Hong Kong Fu genre mixed with masses of explosions and shooting then this is the film for you.
