"Groundhog Day" Review

"Groundhog Day" Review

10/10

1993
A Harold Ramis Film
Protagonist(s): Bill Murray, Andie MacDowell, Chris Elliott
Run-time: 1 hour 41 minutes

Reliving the same day over and over and over and over can be seen as both a blessing and a curse. Phil Connors (Bill Murray) is thus fortunate and unfortunate to have this singular experience. A single day repeated an unknown amount of times.

The concept is incredibly fascinating, being the only person in the world who remembers a 24 hour time loop repeating until an unknown trigger returns everything to normal, with no warning of its beginning and no end in sight, knowing that even in the worst case all would return to normal when the day dawned.

The comedy is excellent both in timing and execution. The acting is good. The plot is simple and fascinating. What few effects are present are good.

I recommend this film, period.
