"Bolt" Review

"Bolt" Review

7/10

2008
A Byron Howard and Chris Williams Film
Protagonist(s): John Travolta, Mark Walton, Susie Essman, Miley Cyrus
Run-time: 1 hour 36 minutes

When a dog who with the aid of a television crew of special effects believed he had super powers is lost and suddenly powerless he has to find his way home to his person.

The premise of the film is somewhat similar to "The Truman Show" in that the main character is part of a fictional universe without being aware of the fact, with the added hilarity of 'what if Truman thought he was Superman?' taken away from those special effects and made into an animal story much like the "Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey".

The animated full length film is pleasinly cartoon stylized without making things look too unreal, and should appeal to both the young and adults.

I recommend this film for a family film evening.
