"The Smurfs" Review
7/10
2011
A Raja Gosnell Film
Protagonist(s): Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, Jonathan Winters, Alan Cummings, Katy Perry, Fred Armisen, George Lopez, Anton Yelchin
Antagonist: Hank Azaria
Run-time: 1 hour 43 minutes
The evil wizard Gargamel has long attempted to capture the small blue creatures known as Smurfs, and during the blue moon managed to chase a handful through a portal which emerged in New York. Now the Smurfs have to return while simultaneously avoiding the power-hungry schemes of Gargamel.
There are a few physical changes to the loveable comic book characters, but not immediately noticeable. The animation is excellent, and the integration into live action is well done.
The story itself is slightly weak, but then the film is meant for families with children so it only needs some physical comedy.
I recommend this for the afforementioned group.

A change has been made in regards to the Adult status of the Blog, due to the reviews on Alcoholic Beverages, and some for the violent games and films reviewed. Wouldn't want to set a bad example.
