"Paul" Review

"Paul" Review

8/10

2011
A Greg Mottola Film
Protagonist(s): Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Seth Rogen
Antagonist(s): Bill Hader, Joe Lo Truglio, Sigourney Weaver
Run-time: 1 hour 44 minutes

Two British men on a road trip from Comicon come across an alien outside Area 51 and complications ensue.

Many science fiction fans have fantasized what they would do in a close encounter, and this film drops a wise-cracking Roswell Alien on top of a pair of those people with unexpected results. The two men rise to the occasion and grow as human beings.

There are tons of references to sci-fi films both direct and indirect, which are always amusing to spot.

The integration of an animated alien is amazingly done. The dialogue and plot could not be much improved.

A must see for all sci-fi fans.
