"My Cousin Vinny" Review

"My Cousin Vinny" Review

10/10

1992
A Jonathan Lynn Film
Protagonist(s): Joe Pesci, Marisa Tomei, Ralph Macchio
Run-time: 2 hours

While on a road-trip, two teenage boys from New York are arrested for murder, and as it happens the cousin of one of them is a lawyer.

The entire premise of the film is an amusing interplay of ignorance and misunderstandings masterfully executed and timed.

The acting skills of the actors and the quality of the script makes for a very entertaining two hours of a very inexperienced lawyer stumbling and fumbling his way through trial in an effort to save his cousin from prison.

The timing of the release date is also fortunate, as it predates the penile and asinine romps which pass for humour in the last ten or twelve years. That is only my opinion, though.

In all, a very entertaining film and highly recommended.
