"The Man With One Red Shoe" Review

"The Man With One Red Shoe" Review

7/10

1985
A Stan Dragoti Film
Protagonist(s): Tom Hanks, Lori Singer
Antagonist(s): Dabney Coleman, Charles Durning
Run-time: 1 hour 32 minutes

In an effort to stall his rapidly charging successor, CIA Director Ross (Charles Durning) has his most trusted agent select a man at random from the airport to supposedly transfer secret documents. The ruse is pulled off, and the Deputy Director's agents begin stalking the Man With One Red Shoe, searching for any indication of a drop or what the information might be.

I find it amusing to watch this film from time to time, as it is a perfect example of how paranoia always triumphs over reason, and that men in power do almost as much to keep their power as those who want it do to get it.

The plot is amusing, the sub-plot is even more so, and the acting talent is more than passable.

I recommend this for an evening of light entertainment.
