A change has been made in regards to the Adult status of the Blog, due to the reviews on Alcoholic Beverages, and some for the violent games and films reviewed. Wouldn't want to set a bad example.

"Halo: Combat Evolved" Review

"Halo: Combat Evolved" Review

8/10

2001
Developer(s): Bungie, Gearbox Software, Westlake Interactive
Publisher(s): Microsoft Game Studios, MacSoft
Genre(s): First-person shooter
Mode(s): Single player, Multiplayer, Cooperative

In the twenty-sixth century mankind is at war with aliens, and the player assumes the role of Master Chief; a cybernetically enhanced super soldier. The player now has to battle known and unknown enemies after his ship crashes into a ring-shaped artificial world.

It is said that this game is one of the most important games to date, and while it certainly is a great game with a fascinating plot I would not agree with that statement.

The backstory isn't too exaggerated, the technology doesn't look overly exaggerated, and the enemy is persistent when they are alerted to the player's presence. A few of the aliens express some humorous lines when confronted, these would be the small ones with the gas tank on their backs and breathing masks on their faces. They panic easily.

The game as several difficulty settings, and it is possible to have a friend or three to run through it with you, or play against you in a multiplayer arena.

I enjoy the game series, and try to keep up.

I recommend this game for anyone who enjoys games set in the future, with aliens and a wide variety of available weapons.
