"The Incredibles" Review

"The Incredibles" Review

8/10

2004

Antagonist(s): Jason Lee
Run-time: 1 hour 55 minutes

Where are the 'Supers' in a world where superheroes are forbidden by law to use their powers? What do they do? And what would they do to go back to how things were?

I would like to start by pointing out that I find the concept behind this film to be very thought provoking. What happened in the film could possibly happen in real life if Superheroes came into being. I am surprised it hasn't happened more often in graphic novels and films.

And it also serves as a cautionary tale to everyone; don't bully or make fun of anyone, because you have no way of knowing how close you are to being torn to pieces or pounded into the ground.

As with all Superhero films, there are explosions, alluring feminine shapes, misunderstandings, conflict and resolution. Had it not been for its intended audience, meaning everyone, it could only have been improved with one of the things which caused people to watch James Bond films; sex appeal.

The powers are easily recognizable from mostly Marvel Comics characters, but then the super powers displayed aren't attributed to the inspirational sources.

I recommend this for a film night with the family.
