"Quigley Down Under" Review

"Quigley Down Under" Review

8/10

1990
A Simon Wincer Film
Protagonist(s): Tom Selleck
Antagonist(s): Alan Rickman
Run-time: 1 hour 59 minutes

Sharpshooter Matt Quigley arrives in Australia while looking for work and ends up with far more than he bargained for.

The overall plot and history involved in the film fit perfectly as far as my imperfect knowledge of the world is concerned. And it promotes the Sharps rifle, which is used far to rarely in the film era portrayed.

Tom Selleck and Alan Rickman play their typecast characters, which ruins a little of the mood, no matter how well they play those characters.

Otherwise this is a very good film.
