"Trading Places" Review

"Trading Places" Review

7/10

1983
A John Landis Film
Protagonist(s): Eddie Murphy, Dan Aykroyd
Antagonist(s): Ralph Bellamy, Don Ameche
Run-time: 1 hour 56 minutes

What is the basis behind the human psyche; Nature or Nurture? Two rich men decide to put it to the test in the form of a wager.

This is the classic Prince and the Pauper story placed in a modern setting, but put into motion by two people rather than chance, and unknowingly by the subjects.

The plot is good, and the editing is fair. The comedy is a bit strained at times, but on average fairly amusing.

I will be honest about it and confess that partial female nudity has bumped the rating up one digit from where I would have placed it otherwise.

I recommend this film, but not too often as it can get a bit dull if you see it more than once a year.
