"Kung Fu Panda 2" Review

"Kung Fu Panda 2" Review

8/10

2011
A Jennifer Yuh Film
Protagonist(s): Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Lucy Liu, Seth Rogen, David Cross, Jackie Chan
Antagonist(s): Gary Oldman
Run-time: 1 hour 31 minutes

When a peacock leading an army of wolves is set on conquering China with a weapon made to destroy Kung Fu, it is up to a certain Panda and his friends to stop him.

As far as sequels go, this film has not diminished much in quality or entertainment value.

The issue which sticks with me is the apparent lack of skill which Po (Jack Black) acquired in the previous film. He seems to only have those skills when he needs them rather than instinctively using them to compensate for his lack of coordination.

The animation quality has improved, yet not so much that it sticks out. It might be deliberate, though, to keep from alienating niggling viewers such as this interlocutor whose habit it is of defining by the perpendicular pronoun.

This film is highly recommended for a family film night.
