Bartender Desmond Miles wakes up and finds he is being held prisoner by a scientist who wants to delve into his genetic memory.

We follow the adventures of Altaïr ibn-La'Ahad, the ancestor of Desmond as he uncovers a massive conspiracy and hyper advanced technology in the Third Crusade.

There is no conclusive proof that such a thing as genetic memory exists, but as I understand it the basis of the theory is that some things do not need to be taught; instinct. And hidden somewhere in our genetic code is the memory of our ancestors, which might explain why some people have what is called past life experiences. That said, there are more scientifically inaccurate stories out there.

This is the start of my favourite game series. It also introduced to the public consciousness a sport which has been around for a long time; parkour. The sport of crossing landscape and cityscape in as straight a line as possible regardless of obstacles.

I am no great scholar of History, but there are a few liberties taken.

Still, I recommend this game.
