"The Matrix Reloaded" Review

"The Matrix Reloaded" Review

9/10

2003
An Andy Wachowski and Lana Wachowski Film
Protagonist(s): Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Ann Moss, Laurence Fishburne
Antagonist(s): Hugo Weaving, Helmut Bakaitis
Run-time: 2 hours 18 minutes

The fight against the machines has moved on and now the hidden underground city of rebels is in danger of being discovered.

Strictly speaking there was no need to make a sequel to the first film, but I know a great many were happy that it was done.

The fighting sequences have gotten more elaborate since the previous film, and human computer models replace the actors in some of the more extreme fights. The integration of these CGI works, but not perfectly; cloth is always a little troubling and is a dead giveaway to when we move from CGI to real images.

The plot is quite intricate and at times mind boggling, the acting talent is okay, and the effects are spectacular.

I recommend this film for an evening of action, fighting and cool special effects.
