"Stargate SG-1" Review Season 03, Episode 02, Seth

Impressed with their handling of Hathor, the Tok'ra send Selmak to ask their assistance in hunting a rogue System Lord; Setesh. The Tok'ra believe he is hiding somewhere on Earth, and now the SGC seek him out after a surprisingly short search.

This is an example of stretching coincidence a little too far; finding a rogue Goa'uld more or less in their back yard after a short Internet search, when there is so many other places he could hide without being discovered even with armed followers.

This episode also includes an example of a Jaffa joke, which while hilarious to a Jaffa fails to tickle the ribs of normal mortals. A lesson in context, I suppose.

An organism is introduces; Nish'ta. It acts as a brainwashing agent, infecting every cell of the host body and making them pliable to influence. It is the same method Apophis used to brainwash Teal'c's son, and can only be countered through a strong electric shock. Once cured, it cannot reinfect the same host.

The plot is good, the acting talent is good, and the effects are simple and well integrated with the exception of the Ring Platform which appears out of the ground without a trace.
