"Stargate SG-1" Review Season 02, Episode 01, The Serpent's Lair
9/10

Captured while hesitating with triggering the strategically placed explosives on the ship, SG-1 awakes to discover that the attack is not in progress but waiting for Klorel to be healed. On Earth, the SGC is preparing for action against the two ships hovering far enough from the planet not to be seen.
The first new technology introduced is the Shock Grenade, a Goa'uld version of the flash bang grenade so powerful in its effects that it temporarily renders unconscious and blind those exposed.
The second piece of technology revealed is a duplicate of Ra's plan in the film: nuclear warheads enhanced with naquadah, the metal which cannot be found on Earth. The missiles are optimistically named "Goa'uld Busters".
There is some information on Goa'uld society, but not much.
There is a "goof" as well, which I'm not sure is deliberate or not; when Doctor Jackson awakes from the Sarcophagus his wound is not the only thing which had been fixed. His clothing has been repaired as well.
The plot is excellent, the acting talent is good, the special effects are good and modestly used.

A change has been made in regards to the Adult status of the Blog, due to the reviews on Alcoholic Beverages, and some for the violent games and films reviewed. Wouldn't want to set a bad example.
