"Last Night on Earth: The Zombie Game" Review
8/10
Publisher(s): Flying Frog Productions
Genre(s): Board game
Mode(s): Multiplayer (2-6 players)
This dice driven board game takes place in a small town which is overrun with zombies, and with only a handful of survivors. There are several scenarios, but the general theme is to get away before the sun dial reaches zero and the zombies win.
Each character has its strengths and weaknesses, as does the two factions warring for supremacy. The survivors have more health and maneuverability, while the zombies have an ever replenishing number with the ability to appear anywhere divided between the scattered spawn points.
Combat outcome is decided based on the roll of the dice, as is movement and spawning. Additional effects and changed rules are written in randomly drawn cards from the piles of the respective factions, saving the trouble of keeping track of dozens of addendum based on circumstances as they are printed on cards which are used in play or combat.
Accompanying the game is a soundtrack CD which is supposed to set the tone for the game. However, it more brings to mind endless hours of playing video games on the old Sega, Nintendo, or Atari.
The game is listed as Horror, but I fail to see it despite the genre matching with the literary genre attached to Frankenstein and similar books.
I recommend this game be played by enthusiasts of the undead, and that no more than the recommended number play as anything more just makes a mess of the logistics and strategy.
Reviewing different things; food, films, music, books, games etc. It is said that those who can't do; teach. Those who can't teach; critique.

A change has been made in regards to the Adult status of the Blog, due to the reviews on Alcoholic Beverages, and some for the violent games and films reviewed. Wouldn't want to set a bad example.
