"Guillotine" Review

"Guillotine" Review

9/10

Developer(s): Paul Peterson
Publisher(s): Hasbro, Wizards of the Coast, Darwin Project
Mode(s): Multiplayer (2-5 players)

The Revolution is running its course, and as the executioner it is a matter of bragging rights to be able to collect the heads of the best nobles.

The entire game takes place over three rounds, or three days as the game states, each 'day' starting with a line of twelve nobles selected from a deck of cards from left to right at which end stands a guillotine cut-out which accompanies the game.

The players will be dealt a hand of five action cards which may be used to change the order of the nobles in line, or add or remove them. The entire premise of the game is to 'stack the deck' in your favour, as it were.

Some of the victims aren't nobles and have negative points.

At the end of the game the score is added up and the executioner with the highest score wins.

The game takes approximately half an hour depending on the concentration of the players and their knowledge of the rules. The rules are simple, and may change slightly if the action or nobles cards say so.

I recommend this game for any gamers who want a quick and easy game in their collection.
