A mistake in Ted's personnel file and the attempt at correcting it leads the system to believe he doesn't exist and denies him access to the lab. Meanwhile Phil and Lem are on the verge of testing a working jet pack, and the absence of Ted is causing a panic.
Teamwork seems to be the theme of the episode. Risking many for the sake of a few with a very flawed plan the 'distraction' of which sounds like the opening lines of a porno film. It also points out that a complicated and detailed plan will fail much faster than a simple one.
