"Yes Man" Review
10/10
2008
A Peyton Reed Film
Protagonist(s): Jim Carrey, Zooey Deschantel
Run-time: 1 hour 44 minutes
When an uptight and reclusive Banker is forced to say 'Yes' to any suggestion or request put to him, he starts to find life more interesting.
The premise of the film is something I'm sure most people tell themselves that they will do, yet don't. Much like New Year's Resolutions many people tell themselves to be more open to new experiences and be friendlier, but quickly fall back into old/bad habits.
This is Jim Carrey at his best, plenty of antics for his rubber face to carry over to the audience. He might not be the best actor, but physical comedy is where he shines.
The film also shows the consequences of some spontaneous decisions, and serves as a caution to at least give recent actions some thought before going through with a whim. This is unusual for this sort of film where anything goes, but I for one applaude the inclusion.
I highly recommend this film.
