"Wreck-It Ralph" Review

"Wreck-It Ralph" Review

10/10

2012
A Rich Moore Film
Protagonist(s): John Christopher Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, Jane Lynch
Antagonist(s): Alan Tudyk
Run-time: 1 hour 48 minutes

When a video game villain decides to prove that he can be a hero, he sets in motion events which could jeopardize the entire Arcade.

This is in short "Toy Story" meets "Tron". The game characters are aware of their existence and purpose, and as soon as the Arcade is closed they cross over into other games to interact with one another.

There are several very nostalgic game and film references throughout the film which should interest people who actually went to an Arcade to play games in their youth before video games in the home became affordable to the average family and online gaming was more tempting than venturing out into the sun and air.

The animation is excellent. The acting talent is good. The plot is simple, but complicated by the varying game characters and video game scenery.

I recommend this film for anyone who wishes to reminisce about the old days.
