"The Day After Tomorrow" Review
8/10
2004
A Roland Emmerich Film
Protagonist(s): Dennis Quaid, Jake Gyllenhaal, Emmy Rossum, Ian Holm, Sela Ward
Run-time: 2 hours 4 minutes
Every few hundred thousand years the environment comes out of balance, and the planet takes extreme corrective measures to restore the balance. Unfortunately, this time we're here to see it.
This film shows one of the many extreme possibilities of what could happen if we push the environment too far. While by no means an expert on the subject, I can only assume that if push comes to shove the planet will slowly try to even out the imbalance on the surface, but not in quite as extreme measures as demonstrated here. And if it is so extreme, I would assume the change would be over a few hundred years rather than over night.
It is a controversial subject, far more so than the iffy talents of a certain Canadian teen pop sensation, but doesn't raise quite as big stinks if one happens to disagree with established views.
While I haven't gotten an accurate tally, I would venture a guess that this film has fewer deaths than the previous disaster film by this director. And I don't mean "Godzilla".
A quick summation of the film is that the planet decided to start a new ice age, and several groups of peoples are trapped by the close to instant climate changes of the northern hemisphere. We follow their struggles for survival and witness a few deaths or their aftermath.
I recommend this film to be taken lightly and not as documented fact.
Reviewing different things; food, films, music, books, games etc. It is said that those who can't do; teach. Those who can't teach; critique.

A change has been made in regards to the Adult status of the Blog, due to the reviews on Alcoholic Beverages, and some for the violent games and films reviewed. Wouldn't want to set a bad example.
