The Rebels may have set the Empire back by blowing up the Death Star, but it is far from weak and has been searching under every rock in the galaxy for them. When they are found they have to scramble in order to save the cause and as many of the Alliance as possible. But in seeking temporary sanctuary with friends some members of the Rebel Alliance are captured and it is up to a single member to save them.
As a Norseman I find it amusing that the ice planet Hoth was partly filmed in Norway. While we can have some fierce winters it isn't quite as bad as that.
I am a little unhappy with the vague Jedi exercise outline, but then I suppose the budget of the day didn't cover months of martial arts training for the main protagonist and fighting coordinators from Hong Kong Fu films. Such films were still a few years away from being produced in Hollywood.
While not the most impressive film, it does have one scene which has been parodied time and again. For fear of spoiling it I will not quote it, but I suspect those who have seen the film will know.
I recommend this film.
