"Cast Away" Review
9/10
2000
A Robert Zemeckis Film
Protagonist(s): Tom Hanks
Run-time: 2 hours 23 minutes
When a FedEx executive crashes into the Pacific and is washed ashore on a desert island he must metaphorically reinvent the wheel in order to survive.
This film is a modern take on the classic Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe, with a more detailed and hopefully accurate retelling of the physical and psychological changes which occur in a man so that he may survive the solitude of a primitive island.
The plot is solid, the effects are excellent, the acting talent is great, and the ending is open to interpretation.
While there is a brief moment of extreme action this film is mostly of the slow variety. If you do not enjoy that sort of film then this is not the film for you.
Reviewing different things; food, films, music, books, games etc. It is said that those who can't do; teach. Those who can't teach; critique.
