"Be Kind Rewind" Review
7/10
2008
A Michel Gondry Film
Protagonist(s): Jack Black, Mos Def, Danny Glover
Antagonist(s): Sigourney Weaver
Run-time: 1 hour 42 minutes
When a video store clerk and his clumsy friend accidentally magnetize the video cassettes, erasing everything, they decide to remake every film from memory to keep the store afloat.
This film demonstrates the consequences of copyright infringements, though I'm not certain it would be carried out exactly in the same manner.
While Sigourney Weaver isn't an antagonist in the strictest sense, I felt the need to include her because of her remark to her colleges about them being the bad guys.
It has also become popular to 'Swede' films and putting them on Youtube. While this is a trend which started before this film, it became more so after and now there is a term for the amateurish poorly made versions of famous films.
This film also demonstrates how a community is willing to get together and change history for the benefit of one valued member.
While not among my favourites I recommend this film.
Reviewing different things; food, films, music, books, games etc. It is said that those who can't do; teach. Those who can't teach; critique.

A change has been made in regards to the Adult status of the Blog, due to the reviews on Alcoholic Beverages, and some for the violent games and films reviewed. Wouldn't want to set a bad example.
