"A Dog's Breakfast" Review

A David Hewlett Film
Protagonist(s): David Hewlett, Kate Hewlett, Paul McGillion, Rachel Luttrell, Christopher Judge, Amanda Byram
Run-time: 1 hour 28 minutes
When cautious and reclusive Patrick (David Hewlett) is introduced to the fiance (Paul McGillion) of his sister (Kate Hewlett), his suspicious nature causes an accident and now he must try to cover up the apparent murder before he is found out.
Despite the macabre summary, this film is somewhere between "Weekend at Bernie's" and "The Telltale Heart" in the progress of the plot.
I cannot say much more without revealing the entire film, so I will say that it was a friend of mine who introduced me to this film. Despite my having seen every episode of the three recognised Stargate series I had not gotten wind of this until nearly three years after it came out.
The effects are simple but good. The plot is solid. The comedy is mostly slapstick and well timed. The acting talent is good.
I recommend this film for anyone who enjoys either Stargate Atlantis or simply enjoy a bit of dark humour.
