A John Lasseter Film
Protagonist(s): Tom Hanks, Tim Allen
Antagonist(s): Erik von Detten
Run-time: 1 hour 21 minutes
The purpose of a toy is to make children happy, and it is a task most enjoy. But when a favourite is replaced, it attempts to return to its former position.
This film was the first full length animation film made entirely on computer, and is celebrated as such.
The story itself is very fascinating, and the concept of inanimate objects coming to life has been aired before in other films. "The Brave Little Toaster" and "The Steadfast Tin Soldier" come to mind. But it is more likely that the story is based on the early Pixar animation shorts "Tin Toy" and "Knick Knack".
That being said, I greatly enjoyed the film and it hasn't lessened with the tens of times I've seen it.
It is highly recommended for a family film night.
