"Kate & Leopold" Review

"Kate & Leopold" Review

7/10

2001
A James Mangold Film
Protagonist(s): Meg Ryan, Liev Schreiber, Hugh Jackman
Run-time: 1 hour 58 minutes

When the former boyfriend of Kate finds a hole in space and time off the Brooklyn Bridge, he inadvertently brings with him a passenger when he returns from his journey into the past.

While the science behind the film is a little iffy when it comes to paradoxes as I have come to understand them, it is generally very amusing to see a man taken out of his time and thrust into the unknown. And when combined with a little romance, then all that is lacking for a perfect film is a few explosions.

The plot is well arranged, the choice in acting talent is well selected, and the romance while a bit cliché is very entertaining when combined with the comedy of misunderstandings and misdirections.

This is a film I recommend for anyone of a dating age, as well as a select few who won't take a hint about chivalry and its part in romance
.
