Sarris Tavern Review
Rhodes Old Town, Rhodes, Greece
25.07.2012
During my tour of the Old Town, trying desperately not to fall for the tempting merchandice being sold every few feet it eventually became time to eat.
My family and I found a bit of shade from the hot Mediterranean sun at Sarris Tavern, lured in by the location and the advertised free Wi-fi.
In the spirit of trying one of the advertised local dishes I ordered the Pasticchio; pasta in tomato sauce and what appeared and tasted like corned beef under a thick layer of creamy and fluffy cheese.
The texture was excellent, but it was a little bland in taste even if the portion was generous. I suspect from the swift preparation time that it was premade and kept heated. If you are familiar with Macaroni and Cheese, then this seems to be a watered down version of it.
There was wi-fi as the sign on the side of the building claimed, but since there were so many other wireless routers competing for bandwidth the connection was spotty at best.
A hygiene remark is worth adding; I found a fourse dark hair in my meal, mixed in with the pasta.
