When Apophis attacks Chulak in search for his harsesis child, SG-1 have to find the child before him and the clue left by Sha're leads them to a world not charted by the Goa'uld. What they find is more than they had imagined.
There are a few things introduced in this episode.
The first is the Buddhist influence these people may have had on Earth. The architecture style is very reminiscent of Chinese or Tibetan monasteries. The stone arches which stand in the perimeter wall are very similar to the Stargates in appearance, which I believe is a clue as to the true nature of Oma Desala.
Oma Desala is introduced and seen briefly. She is an ascended Ancient who seeks to enlighten and ascend others. She will return later in the series, repeatedly, and reveal more and more about the Ancients.
Ascended beings are incredibly powerful and nearly omniscient. This is a subject which will be broached repeatedly at a later time.
The plot is good, the acting talent is good, the effects are good.

A change has been made in regards to the Adult status of the Blog, due to the reviews on Alcoholic Beverages, and some for the violent games and films reviewed. Wouldn't want to set a bad example.
