"The Croods" Review
10/10
2013
A Kirk DeMicco and Chris Sanders Film
Protagonist(s): Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds, Catherine Keener, Clark Duke, Cloris Leachman, Chris Sanders, Randy Thom
Run-time: 1 hour 38 minutes
When change is thrust upon a cave-dwelling family whose motto is; Never Not Be Afraid, Change Is Not Good, there are some stumbles and falls along the path to Tomorrow. But with the help of Guy (Ryan Reynolds), change doesn't have to be quite as bad as it used to.
This is a fantastic film, entertaining from the start until its last, and not lacking in action.
Though filled with humour which will undoubtedly be entertaining for adults (including mother-in-law jokes), this is clearly a family film, as demonstrated by the lack of anything too graphic in the way of violence or romance. The amusing takes on modern inventions is almost like what has been found for decades in The Flintstones.
The film is most definitely not made to be a true representation of the past, shown by the fantastic creatures which seem to be an amalgam of two or more animals in each case.
Though lacking in a real physical antagonist, there are animals and a geologic disaster which serves as motivation.
The plot is good, the acting talent is good, and the film is animated and thus entirely composed of effects.
I recommend this film for any family, or anyone looking for a chuckle.

A change has been made in regards to the Adult status of the Blog, due to the reviews on Alcoholic Beverages, and some for the violent games and films reviewed. Wouldn't want to set a bad example.
