"Stargate SG-1" Review Season 03, Episode 10, Forever In a Day

Responding to an emergency call by the people of Abydos, SG-1 finds many of them captured including the son of Doctor Jackson's wife. Rushing to find the boy, Doctor Jackson is caught in the Ribbon Device of Amaunet and found by Teal'c. When he awakes, Doctor Jackson is informed of the death of Sha're, yet he continues to see visions of her.

This is an emotional episode, dealing mostly with the stages of grief. There is little new information outside the cultural.

There is the abstract concept that the host of a Goa'uld could possibly communicate through the Ribbon Device, and as that is the basis for the entire episode it should not be reduced to a mere footnote. It is possible that the entire episode was part of a coping mechanism for the brain, creating scenarios in the mind to deal with the pain.

The plot is good, the acting talent is good, the effects are good.
