"Stargate SG-1" Review Season 03, Episode 06, Point of View

When the Quantum Mirror stored at Area 51 activates and deposits an alternate Doctor Samantha Carter and Major Charles Kawalsky from a reality where Earth is overrun by the Goa'uld it sets in motion quite a few philosophical thoughts and consequences of duplicate individuals in the same reality are revealed.

This episode reintroduces the concept of alternate realities by travelling through the same device which deposited Doctor Jackson in the alternate reality where he learned of an impending attack on Earth.

The second reintroduction is the disposable power amplifier to provide additional power to the Stargate so it can add the eighth chevron. Major Carter uses the understanding of Naquadah Generators to repair their amplifier so the alternate reality can use it to contact the Asgard for help.

The first real thing which this episode introduces is that the Asgard has the ability to revive and heal the recently deceased much like the Goa'uld Sarcophagus.

The plot is good, the acting talent is good even if the cliche use of facial hair to indicate evil 'twins' is used, the effects are good and well integrated.
