"Better Off Ted" Review Season 02, Episode 12, It's My Party and I'll Lie if I Want To

While testing a Lie Detector, it is revealed that Ted is socializing with the Director because of their children and Veronica feels it unfair that he gets a leg up because he has progeny while Ted fears that disappointing the man will get him transferred somewhere incredibly hazardous. Phil and Lem lend Linda some money, and embarrassment ensues.

The theme of the episode is that while small lies might be in a grey area of ethics, they are necessary to maintain a civlized adult society. But there is a limit to how far a small lie can be stretched before it ceases to be a small lie.
