"A Thousand Words" Review
9/10
2012
A Brian Robbins Film
Protagonist(s): Eddie Murphy, Clark Duke, Cliff Curtis
Run-time: 1 hour 31 minutes
When words are tossed around as carelessly as fallen leaves from a dying tree, they lose all meaning. A very vocal Publishing Agent learns this the hard way.
This film has to be the ultimate deterrent for running ones mouth off. But the underlying message is quite admirable and best put by Mr Elvis Presley; A little less conversation, a little more action.
It is a very unusual situation in which to put the normally verbal enthusiast Eddie Murphy, forcing him to act and communicate with as few words as possible. But this is likely why he was chosen for the part, much as Arnold Schwarzenegger being chosen to portray the mild mannered scientist who impregnated himself being the opposite of what is expected of him.
The effects are good, the plot is excellent, the acting talent is good, and the comedy is good if strained in places.
I recommend this film for anyone who wants an entertaining evening.
