"Father of the Bride Part II" Review
8/10
1995
A Charles Shyer Film
Protagonist(s): Steve Martin, Diane Keaton, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, George Newbern, Kieran Culkin, Martin Short
Antagonist(s): Eugene Levy
Run-time: 1 hour 46 minutes
When George Banks (Steve Martin) is told that he is about to become a grandfather he panics and has a midlife crisis with some unexpected results.
The comedy is still mostly physical, and is a loose remake of the film "Father's Little Dividend" from 1951.
One little niggle I have on the matter is that Eugene Levy appeared in the previous film as a wedding singer on audition. He sang a liberal rendition of "Volare". But no one in the film see the resemblence.
The film does serve as a warning about the use of prophylactics or the lack of them despite age seemingly being an issue.
I recommend this film for a family film night.
