"Kung Fu Panda" Review

"Kung Fu Panda" Review

9/10

2008
A Mark Osborne and John Stevenson Film
Protagonist(s): Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross
Antagonist(s): Ian McShane
Run-time: 1 hour 30 minutes

Panda Kung Fu enthusiast Po (Jack Black) is enthused when the Dragon Warrior is to be chosen. In his efforts to witness this event he is unwittingly chosen. If not for his complete lack of coordination, training and fitness this would have been perfect!

This sort of anthropomorphous world is far from a first. Disney's "Robin Hood" springs to mind.

The story is a classical buddy film of character improvement, with physical comedy as the main source of amusement.

The animation quality is excellent, and the facial features are credible and recognisable.

On a personal note, this is the medium in which I prefer Jack Black; voice acting.

I recommend this film for a family night.
